PDF pages are opaque by default, so transparent PNGs render onto the page background you pick (white by default). Choose any colour, or set the page background to match your design.

Is the embedded quality lossless?

Yes — PNGs are embedded using PDF's lossless image stream. There is no JPEG re-encoding step.

Why is the PDF larger than the source PNGs combined?

Slight overhead is normal — PDF wraps each image with metadata, fonts, and structure. If you need a smaller file, switch to lossy mode in advanced settings or run the result through our Compress PDF tool.
